Current Positions


Experienced School-Based Play Therapist 

Salary: £30,000 (FTE) per annum (pro rata), 15 hours per week (2 days), term time only. 


We are looking for an experienced and qualified Play Therapist to join our amazing team. The role will require the post holder to work as part of our outreach service delivering Play Therapy into schools. As well as being a skilled therapist, you will have a passion for improving the mental health of children and young people as well as an ability to act as an ambassador for Child in Mind within schools. You will be comfortable working collaboratively with the school community to deliver the best outcomes for children referred to the service, you will have a strong ability to build positive supportive relationships with school staff, parents and other agencies.

 If you share our ethos and would like to become part of the Child in Mind family, as a successful candidate you will have:

  • A professional qualification in Play Therapy at Diploma level or above.
  • Current membership with BACP, BAPT, PTUK or equivalent
  • Minimum of 200 post qualifying hours
  • Experience of providing support to parents/carers/school staff.
  • Experience of work with children and young people with a range of additional needs (ADHD, ASD, Developmental Trauma etc).
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary agencies to deliver services and safeguard children
  • A strong understanding of the current issues relating to supporting and safeguarding Children and Young People.
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • A full driving licence and access to a car.
